Discover what life was like for a Victorian sailor aboard HMS Warrior 1860. One of the first armor-plated, iron-hulled warships, it was built from 1859-1861 and today serves as a maritime museum. Aboard the restored ship, sit at the mess-deck table, participate in a gun drill, and freely pick up artifacts to inspect them more closely. Explore four decks of displays, and ask crew members and other staff any questions you have. The venue offers rotating activities and demonstrations, so check the schedule before you visit. • A wonderful experience. Very large and impressive. Interesting that it was never seen in action - a real deterrent ! Well positioned, even for photos from the outside. Do not miss !  more »

  • Very good and entertaining but could do with more information signs or a guide or something. There are a few workers dotted around to ask questions but I think it's nice to have some fun fact or things to know what our looking at.
  • What a great ship, this reminds me of everything that was great about Britain before the 19th century. This ship brings together the power of steam and sail, and to be honest, from seeing them on TV or in films, simply doesn't do them justice. The interiors are simply huge, with so much to see. If I could time travel I'd love to see Britain in action during this era.
