Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco

4.8
One of the most photographed structures in the world, Golden Gate Bridge is the first feature of San Francisco you'll see when driving in from the north. Opened in 1937, the structure boasted the longest suspension bridge main span until 1964. Still considered one of the world's greatest engineering feats, the bridge draws visitors with its numerous vantage points, from which you can see and photograph the picturesque bay and boats passing under the iconic structure's red towers. The bridge has sectioned-off pathways on each side for both pedestrians and cyclists, so you can take your time crossing and admiring the views. Though the bridge closes for pedestrians at night. • My son made the visit by running on the pedestrian walkway provided for this purpose, starting from the parking lot of the port, went back it's 12 km, enough to get in the leg, it's perfect for sportsmen, and what a view ...

  • Cross by bike! Simple like that!!! Best store for rent is in Sport Basement which is already super close to the bridge and has free parking if you are by car. Go in point view and then climb to the highest point to get the perfect photo! There you only get on foot or by bike. Car won't. Tip is not to leave anything in sight in the car in the parking lots. Many broken glasses for quick thefts. I didn't see any robbery problems, just robberies anyway.

  • Amazing place. One of the my favorite. I love to look at golden gate bridge from the bottom. There's a spot, called something like fort, under the golden gate bridge from San Francisco side. I love this place. But anywhere you take a picture it would be still perfect
